2023 Chevrolet Colorado Safety and Technology

Enhanced Technology and Safety Features

With an updated powertrain, styling features, and new technology, the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado is an exciting option for drivers searching for an affordable, midsize truck. The midsize pickup truck will be available in several trims for drivers who need a reliable work truck, a daily driver, or an off-road beast. With the same powertrain as the Chevy Silverado 1500, the capability under the hood will not disappoint.

The Latest Technology in the Redesigned Colorado

The latest tech features in the new Colorado resemble the Chevrolet Silverado technology. Chevy put a new 11.3-inch infotainment screen as a standard feature in all models. Drivers can customize and configure the new screen with the segment-first available Google Built-In for maps, music, and vehicle function.

Drivers who take their Colorado off-road can use the available Off-Road Performance Display for real-time performance details about GPS guidance, pitch and roll, g-force, wheel slip, and transfer case status. The infotainment screen also features up to 10 camera views, including the underbody camera on the Z71 and ZR2 trims.

Other notable technology features are reminiscent of the 2022 Chevy Silverado. The Colorado will feature standard Hitch Guidance, Hitch View, and Chevy’s Trailering App. These features help guide drivers to their trailer with a zoomed-in view to effectively align with the coupler.

Staying Safe on the Road, Trails, and Sand

The 2023 Colorado driver-assistive tech is similar to the Chevrolet Silverado safety features. The standard Chevy Safety Assist package will include Forward Collision Alert, Automatic Emergency Braking, Front Pedestrian Braking, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, Following Distance Indicator, and IntelliBeam Automatic High-Beam Assist. All trim levels will have available features like Blind Zone Steering Assist, Rear Cross-Traffic Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, HD Surround Vision, and Rear Pedestrian Alert.

Impressive Performance Technology

The most impressive new features on the Chevy Colorado include the changes to the powertrain. All trims will come with a 2.7-liter inline-four engine that performs with ease in the larger Silverado. Chevy is tuning the engine and the turbo output for different performance numbers on each Colorado trim. For example, the WT and LT trims come with the standard Turbo 2.7L for 237 horsepower and 259 lb-ft of torque for daily driving around Lordstown.

Chevy ups the game in the Z71 and Trail Boss with the 2.7L Turbo Plus for 320 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque. The Colorado ZR2 gets a 2.7L Turbo High-Output with 310 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque to tackle trails, rocks, and desert sands in the Colorado ZR2 Desert Boss.
